Moon Phases & Women

Updated: Oct 27, 2022

In astrology the Moon is considered female, and her aspects influence women’s energy here on earth. The phases in the lunar cycle are very similar to cyclical changes in women’s bodies. Both the lunar cycle and the feminine cycle both last about 29 days.

I’m here to help you navigate through the changes that will happen whether you’re ready or not. By being aware of the phases you can grow and transition with ease instead of fighting the battle you were never destined to win.

Phase 1:

Phase one can be considered as the growing Moon 🌙. The Moon affects the energy and strength in nature, whereas the female body starts to produce more estrogen. This time is increased with activity (sexually, growth, intensity) and your metabolism might rise as well. You’ll feel full with possibilities.

Full Moon 🌕:

Energy is at its maximum. More like a personal explosion. It affects us all and especially women. Full Moons are awesome times to make that baby because most women start ovulation around this time. You feel like you can concur all things; men included. Women are generally more fearless around this time, which can be good & bad.

Phase 2:

Waning Moon is when most energy levels start to decline. For most women it’s a time of slow down. In our bodies the progesterone hormones prevail. This can cause fluid retention (bloated) and mood changes (quick) so check that tongue, and drink lots of fluids.

New Moon 🌚:

Energy is at its lowest point. Some of us women will feel completely drained and need to rest. In women’s bodies this is the actual menstruation period. It’s a purge to start a new cycle of life, experiences, and chances. This is usually a strange time because most women are looking for the change but don’t have the energy to create it.

It may seem like a bit much to chart the Moons every single phase but doing so might create more harmony in your life. When women start to live in her feminine magic, her body and spirit find balance. It’s a beautiful dance of celestial knowing. Let’s say your cycle starts with the Full Moon: it’s believed that male energy is dominant in the body. So you might be more assertive, aggressive, or the type A woman. There is nothing wrong with being an Amazon women, we need every range of the woman. The lunar cycle is always trying to harmonize your body by softening it through phases. The New Moon is the most feminine and is believed to hide herself to protect her extremely fragile state. So if you’re like me the New Moon is a rough time for your body with the actual menstrual cycle happening, and the physical drain on your body, a recovery period is needed. (Hence the hiding, sleepiness, exhaustion) I’ve made my life easier by simply keeping a chart. Charting both the Moons Phases as well as my own cycle and mood swings, & emotions. If you chart you’ll start to notice a pattern and can navigate through the world with ease. If you notice every Waning Moon I’m a super Bitch, or my patience is short you can be more mindful to stay in, or cut your interactions short to protect your own energy force. Avoiding conflicts and creating more spiritual harmony is a must for us beautiful ever evolving creatures. So write it down! Get to know Mother Moon and all her phases. Remember that emotionally the Moon & Women are inherently inconsistent. You’ve heard the phrase: “As the Moon comes through phases so do I.” Your emotions are nothing to be ashamed of. Your phases are just as important as the transition from Spring to Summer. We are all a piece of the Moon, we create worlds, so a bit of inconsistency is needed to evolve.

Women are the most complex creatures on this planet. Being both feminine, fragile, but also strong and fearless. Sometimes you’re the Amazon and sometimes the Goddess. Whichever phase you are in be there! Embrace all the feels, and know in every step you are moving forward through a cycle of blessings and yes changes.
