Hey... I'm Briana
Briana Young-Roane if you feisty
"Just a Gypsy Spirit that loves to move freely and live my true authentic lyfe. Nothing makes me happier than a Pincha, dancing under Mother Moon & stars, exploring this vast beautiful world, and sharing coffee with a friend. Oh yeah... and adding a "fuck" wherever I can."
Briana is a colorful character to say the least. Wearing many hats in her daily life as mother, wife, sister, friend and of course teacher she is always busy. Born in Los Angeles CA, but grew up in Inglewood CA. Bri was active even as a kid, keeping herself busy while growing up in the hood, she still found the love of dance, movement and happiness. She studied ballet and modern as a kid, then turn full cheerleader in High School and College. Bri moved to the East Coast headed to college to a traditional HBCU, and that journey started her movement around the world. Now on East Coast she has flavor that mixes both coast to give you a worldly and fun flare. Bri is always full of smiles, and even more ready to introduce the Yoga experience to her clients. Her passion has always been dancing, and after an injury she was introduced to Vinyasa Yoga for recovery. After healing, she decided that Yoga was her path, and to make it a lifestyle. Hints why her classes feel like a mix of dance, free movement, and traditional asana practices.
No two classes are the same... ever.
Briana has studied at lots of Yoga studios, in many styles: Vinyasa Flow, Hot Power Yoga, and Ashtanga - Primary Series. Then in 2007 she started her teaching career, after about 7 years of a steady practice. Teaching on a regular basics started getting stale and that is when she found her own style: GYPSY YOGA MAMA. GYM sparked out of the need to have less control and more freedom. Traditional yoga classes rarely offer a time to move away from the mat, or out of some many linear asanas. Most of the time you feel like you cannot venture off of the teacher’s path. GYM is totally different. Freedom, self-expression, and dance are focus points. Bri found more people needed less directions and more encouragement to feel the freedom of self-exploration.
Teaching in a few major cities as she moved across the U.S. her ultimate goal is to open a Haven for Yoga, Spiritual Reconnection, and a Restful Resort. In addition, she has owned two different studios over the past few years, one a Yoga Studio, and the other a Pole Dance studio.
Briana has collected about 500hrs of Teacher training hours and workshop experience. Briana stands true to her practice and in doing so never has, and doesn’t plan on registering with Yoga Alliance, because that doesn’t make you a good teacher, it only makes you a “Paid Member” with a monetary value. "Yoga is over 5000 years old and no one can tell you what your practice should unlock in you. The practice is the soul enjoying the human experience." She is a certified Group Ex Instructor, Pole Dance Instructor, and a Senior & Kids Yoga Instructor in addition to Vinyasa Flow, and Primary Series 100hr Ashtanga.
“I believe anyone can teach, if they LOVE what they know, and share it honestly.” I am a regular girl, with a real passion to teach. I love Yoga it is made me a better person, and if it can do that for me, it can heal the people everywhere.
